WWE News: Cena takes shots at Reigns' Wellness Policy Violation on Raw

Cena and Roman at the end of their Tag Team Match
John Cena and Roman Reigns had another confrontation on this week's Raw

What's the story?

John Cena and Roman Reigns took part in another heated promo following Reigns' win over Jason Jordan. The verbal volleying saw Cena take shots at Roman Reigns for violating the WWE Wellness Policy and getting suspended.

In case you didn't know...

The WWE Wellness Policy was put in place after the death of Eddie Guerrero, and Reigns was found in violation of it last year and even missed the WWE Draft as he was suspended during the time.

Roman at the time tweeted, "I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE's wellness policy. No excuses, I own it."

The heart of the matter

The Cena and Reigns promo had intense verbal volleying between the two, with Reigns starting it by saying that he has had better matches in the last two years than John Cena has had in his entire career.

Cena did not hold back as he ripped "The Big Dog" apart and said that Reigns was unable to do his job. He also told the crowd that this was one burial they can't pin on him, as Reigns buries himself while on the microphone.

This was not the worst, however, as his parting shot at Reigns was an extremely unexpected one, pointing out the wellness policy violation that resulted in Reigns' suspension.

What's next?

Cena and Reigns face each other at No Mercy and the feud between the two has now taken on nuclear heat as the war of words between the two has crossed several barriers.

Author's take

The promos between the two are well scripted, which means that they are approved by WWE.

For a company, who at one time considered the Curtain Call the biggest transgression on kayfabe, this shows that WWE has now moved into the reality era, with the promos and feuds taking on more real life references and connotations.
