What’s the story?

Current Raw Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro were recently a guest on the E&C Pod of Awesomeness, during which, former WWE United States Champion and one half of The Bar, Cesaro discussed his relationship with tag partner Sheamus and how much “The Celtic Warrior” has helped him working in the WWE.

In case you didn’t know…

The pair of Sheamus and Cesaro initially became a tag team back in 2016, following their best of seven series which ended in a score of 3-3 and a draw. Following their formation, Sheamus and Cesaro would quickly go on to make a huge impact on the entire WWE Tag Team Division as they defeated The New Day to capture the WWE Tag Team Titles and ended their record-setting reign of 483 days.

Over the course of the past few months, The Bar has been dominating the Raw Tag Team Division as well and are currently in their fourth reign as Raw Tag Team Champions. They won the belts from the team of Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

The heart of the matter

According to Cesaro, he believes that being paired with Sheamus has certainly allowed both men to show more of their personalities to the WWE Universe and gave both men a chance to play off each other.

"While you're out there by yourself, you don't really have anybody to play off of, but if Sheamus is out there, I know that even if something gets messed up, or one of us gets lost, or I miss my cue, then, we can play it off no matter what."

Cesaro, who is a former a WWE United States Champion and currently in his fifth overall reign as a tag team champion, noted that he is definitely happy to be in the WWE, but, “The Swiss Superman” claimed that he is certainly not satisfied to be in the WWE after all these years. However, Cesaro did add to the fact that teaming up with Sheamus has certainly helped him a lot outside of the wrestling ring as well, because whenever either one of them is going through something or is feeling a bit low, then the other one is always there to talk to.

"It's like good cop/bad cop. If Sheamus is down, I pick him up and if I'm down, he picks me up. And that I think is a good thing."

What’s next?

Following the turn of events on this past week’s episode of Raw, Cesaro and Sheamus are currently scheduled to defend their Raw Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 34 against “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman, who in a rather controversial manner, won a Raw Tag Team Title #1 contender Battle Royal match without a partner.

Author’s Take

Cesaro, in my opinion, is truly one of the hardest working superstars in the WWE today and definitely deserves to hold the World Championship sometime down the road.
