WWE News: Charlotte comments on Nia Jax possibly injuring her from Raw
What’s the story?
After their match that made headlines for Nia Jax nearly injuring Charlotte on a couple of occasions on Raw this past week, ‘The Queen’ has made her first comments about the incident to USA Today.
In case you didn’t know
In the aforementioned match this week, Jax not only hit a painful-looking shoulder breaker on Charlotte before dropping her on her head and neck, but later in the match, also failed to catch the former Women’s Champion when she executed a high-risk moonsault to the outside. The latter manoeuvre saw Charlotte land face first at ringside in her second scary looking bump of the bout.
Luckily, no injuries were suffered and Charlotte was able to make an appearance the following night when she debuted as the newest member of Smackdown LIVE’s Women’s division.
The heart of the matter
While speaking with USA Today, ‘The Genetically Superior Athlete’ would play down the incident and suggested that it looked a lot worse than it was.
“It didn’t really affect me. That’s up to the viewer on how they viewed it that it looked nasty. It’s going to take a lot more than dropping me on my head to keep me down. No, knock on wood, I haven’t missed a live event, I haven’t been injured. I know my body and I’m think I’m extremely well-trained. I looked at it as, ‘Hey, bring it. I’ll see you next time, woman.’”

Author’s take
These incidents can serve as a reminder to fans of how dangerous professional wrestling is and that injuries can occur at any time. Thankfully, Charlotte seems to come out of this unscathed and can continue to make waves in Women’s wrestling.
As for Nia Jax, this doesn’t help her in silencing some of her critics who believe she was called up from NXT too soon. In my opinion, criticism for this would be harsh on Nia, although she does need to take more care in protecting her opponents in the ring.
