WWE News: Charlotte Flair replaces Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35, responds to WWE Universe
What's the story
Things have dramatically changed for one of the biggest matches that was previously set for WrestleMania 35. Becky Lynch is now "suspended" for 60 days by Mr. McMahon and he has appointed Charlotte Flair to be her replacement to face Ronda Rousey. Needless to say, the WWE Universe is not too happy with this decision.
In case you didn't know...
Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey were set to face each other last November at Survivor Series. However, due to an unforeseen injury suffered at the hands of Nia Jax during a RAW vs SmackDown brawl, plans were changed and Charlotte Flair replaced Becky Lynch for the event.
Charlotte brutally assaulted Ronda with a kendo stick during their match, resulting in an automatic disqualification. At WWE TLC the following month, Ronda Rousey would cost both Becky and Charlotte the SmackDown Live Women's Championship by knocking them both off the ladder to allow for Asuka to capture the title.
Fast forward to the Royal Rumble less than a month ago, Asuka would defeat Becky Lynch to retain her SmackDown Live Women's Championship, while Ronda Rousey would retain against Sasha Banks for the RAW Women's Championship.
During the Women's Royal Rumble match, Becky Lynch would replace an injured Lana for the #27 spot, closing out the match with Charlotte Flair and thus eliminating her to guarantee a title match for WrestleMania 35 against either Asuka or Ronda Rousey. Becky would choose Ronda Rousey.
In the weeks to come, Becky would be suspended by the McMahons for failing to comply to their advice to have her injured knee checked, not to mention the physical and verbal assault from Becky Lynch on both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, respectively.
After eventually succumbing to their demands and apologizing to the McMahons for her rebellious actions, Becky was reinstated with her match back on for WrestleMania against Ronda Rousey... or so it would seem.
The heart of the matter
Mr. McMahon came out following Becky's apology to Triple H and Stephanie to inform her and Ronda that "he" did not accept her apology, therefore suspending Becky for her actions for another 60 days and replacing her with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. In response to the negative feedback from the WWE Universe from all over social media, Charlotte Flair took a moment to respond to those who were not in favor of her replacing Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35.
What's next
Ronda Rousey will be defending her RAW Women's Championship against Ruby Riott this Sunday at Elimination Chamber. The winner of the match will go on to face Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35 as of this time.
