WWE News: Charlotte wanted Paul Heyman to be her manager

<p>
Could the Queen be the next Heyman Girl?

What's the Story?

Paul Heyman has been the advocate for quite a few big names, ranging from Brock Lesnar to CM Punk. Recently, we learned that another high caliber superstar, Charlotte Flair, had her eyes on Heyman as a manager.

In Case You Didn't Know...

Since Brock Lesnar's return back in 2012, Heyman has picked up a few talents left and right, trying to bring them to the status of the Beast. Heyman would bring CM Punk in during his 435-day long reign as WWE Champion, along with Cesaro who, at the time, had won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

While having Heyman as a mouthpiece didn't always garner a lot of success, with Curtis Axel and Ryback possibly being worse off after backing him up, Heyman's gift of gab was a way to keep his wrestlers in the spotlight. So it's not too shocking to hear that more wrestlers are wanting the Advocate to add them to his list of Paul Heyman Guys.

The Heart of the Matter

In a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, Charlotte Flair briefly discussed the Advocate of the Beast and mentioned that she would love to be managed by Heyman.

I would love Paul to manage me. At Wrestlemania 32, when I was so nervous and had so much other pressure on me, it was Paul who said, 'go out there and prove to them why you're the center of that poster."

What's Next?

The Nature Girl has quickly risen to the top of the Smackdown women's roster after being drafted to the Blue Brand back in April. Charlotte won a Fatal-4-Way match in September to earn a shot at Natalya's Women's Championship at Hell in a Cell. With Lesnar staying off TV for a while following his victory at No Mercy, it seems his schedule has opened up a bit. It's possible that the 4-time Women's Champ may be added to a pretty impressive list.

Author's Take

Heyman and Charlotte seem like a money-making pair. While Heyman has managed some legends in the business, from Steve Austin to The Undertaker to the Big Show, only three out of his last five have been big hits, and Cesaro didn't get going until after he and Heyman split. Adding Charlotte to the list of Heyman Guys could be great, not only for Charlotte but Heyman as well.

It doesn't hurt that Heyman already has his eyes on Charlotte as well. Back in April during Wrestlemania Axxess, he stated that he believes Charlotte will be the first woman to main event Wrestlemania. That's pretty high praise coming from someone so highly respected in the business, so maybe a Flair-Heyman team isn't too far out of reach.
