WWE News: Chris Jericho on Goldberg-Brock Lesnar Survivor Series match

Chris Jericho has been entertaining the WWE Universe with his current gimmick

On the most recent episode of his podcast, Talk is Jericho, WWE superstar Chris Jericho expressed his opinion on the match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, which was the main event of this year’s Survivor Series.

According to Y2J, it was a very smart move because if the encounter had lasted longer, it would not have made this kind of an impact. He opined that the incredible finish had everyone talking and is bound to set up a huge rematch between Goldberg and Lesnar.

"I loved the Goldberg finish. I think it was very smart. Had they gone out there for about a 10-minute match, and kind of been a little bit plodding, or maybe somebody blows up or whatever it may be, I don't think it would have been as effective.”

“It was a shock-value, water cooler moment. Everybody's talking about it; it sets up for a huge main event rematch, and we have something to talk about, so I think it was a great idea,” added the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Chris Jericho said that although the result of the Lesnar-Goldberg left everyone shocked, he felt that it was a brilliant decision after thinking about it for a minute. He also congratulated Goldberg for his grand return to the WWE. Here’s what he said:

“Everyone was shocked; everyone was surprised, but after thinking about it for a minute, I think it was actually a pretty brilliant finish. So congratulations to those guys. Congratulations to Goldberg for coming back and making his mark right away.”

The Superstar and his ‘best friend’ Kevin Owens, though, did not have a very memorable night at the Survivor Series, as they were both partly responsible for Team Raw’s loss in the 5-on-5 tag team against Team Smackdown.

While Owens got disqualified because he used Jericho’s list to attack AJ Styles, Y2J was eliminated after an RKO at the hands of Randy Orton when trying to gather his list. On the following episode of Raw, everyone expected a feud between the ‘best friends’ to begin, but they both ended up blaming Roman Reigns for the red brand’s loss in the match.
