WWE News: Chris Jericho on whether he considers himself a legend
What's the story?
Scott Fishman of TV Insider recently had an interview with Chris Jericho on the heels of his Travel Channel show, "The Legend Of...with Chris Jericho" debuting. In the interview, Fishman asked Jericho if he considers himself a legend, and Jericho provided a great answer.
In case you didn't know...
"The Legend Of...with Chris Jericho" debuts on the Travel Channel on November 17th. In the show, Jericho takes a look at unexplained legends and lore across America.
The heart of the matter
When thinking of himself as a legend, Jericho stated that he would have to be a complete a*****e to think that he was and he would expand on that though with his quote below:
I think I would be a pretty big a**hole to call myself a legend. Some people say that I have some sort of legendary status. And if someone says that, thank you very much. I’m more than happy to accept that. It’s hard for you to call yourself a legend. Although I did call myself the living legend in WWE. So, if you look back in 2004, my character definitely thought he was a legend.
Ever since he was a kid he wanted to be a rockstar and a professional wrestler and he is able to perform both of those careers at a high level.
Jericho said that he's very thankful he has a loyal fanbase that will support him in everything he does because the fans know he'll give 1000 percent in every project he does.
What's next?
In addition to his Travel Channel show debuting Friday night, Jericho is currently on the European swing of his tour with Fozzy in support of their new album Judas. They are playing in Hamburg, Germany on November 17th and Geng, Belgium on November 18th.
Author's take
Of course Jericho is a legend and of course, he'll be in the WWE Hall Of Fame instantly when he retires (which I hope is not soon). I'm glad he looks at it that way that he would be pretty much an a** if he called himself a legend.
