WWE News: Chris Jericho makes an interesting comment on Conor McGregor in the WWE

Conor
Conor McGregor definitely knows how to cut a WWE-style promo...

What's the story?

Chris Jericho gave an interesting interview to Sports Illustrated during his tour of his new book "No Is A Four Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling But Succeeded In Life."

Within the interview, they discuss the UFC superstar Conor McGregor and his future with the WWE.

In case you didn't know...

McGregor and the WWE are not strangers to one another when it comes to social media. A little over a year ago he would make the following tweet which would prompt several responses from those in the pro wrestling industry.

The heart of the matter...

Jericho is sure that McGregor will be in the WWE someday and the blueprint to have a successful run lies with the opponent Conor just tangled with last Saturday in Floyd Mayweather.

In 2008, Mayweather started a feud with The Big Show; which led to a No Disqualification Match at WrestleMania XXIV, a program many deemed as a success in terms of promotion and execution.

Jericho would expand on this thought with the following comment:

"It might not be this year or the year after that because there’s a lot of money that you got to spend to get him in there, but a guy that yappy that knows the concept of cutting a wrestling promo — same with Floyd.”

He adds that these fighters have used WWE tactics and promos to help promote the fights they have upcoming events.

That type of experience helps in a major piece of the puzzle when it comes to performing in the WWE. Jericho also added that Ronda Rousey is in the same boat as McGregor and expects her in the WWE at some point.

What's next?

It is unknown what is next for McGregor after his two-month medical suspension from the Mayweather fight is up, but there are possibilities.

Defending his UFC Lightweight Championship to the next contender or the third match with Nate Diaz are the two most likely options.

Author's take...

I am probably stating the obvious, but Conor McGregor is PERFECT for the WWE.

Hopefully, there will be a time where both McGregor and Ronda Rousey are on the roster as potential part-time attractions such as Brock Lesnar, as opposed to one-time appearances like Floyd Mayweather.
