WWE News: Chris Jericho tells an unbelievable Vince McMahon story
What's the story?
Chris Jericho may not be touring with SmackDown Live anymore, but he is touring hard to promote his new book - "No is a four letter word". As part of his tour, he was a guest on the 'Q with Tom Power' show.
Jericho regaled his fans with a hilarious Vince McMahon story that not only showcases how unique he is but also sheds light on his work ethic. We bring you the story, with quotes via IWNerd.
In case you didn't know...
Jericho's new book recalls the different things he's learned from his time as a professional wrestler, and also his time in rock n' roll. It is filled with interesting stories from both worlds, with special emphasis on his legendary boss, Vince McMahon.
This is one of the stories that he has chronicled in his book, and he related it on the show, much to the amusement of his fans.
The heart of the matter
The story begins with Chris Jericho flying from Orlando to New York with Vince McMahon on a private plane, and drinking through the whole night.
They landed at 4.30 in the morning, having had a great time on the flight. Jericho wanted to crash and get two hours of sleep, as he had to wake up at 6.30 am. This is Jericho's account of the hilarious anecdote:
He goes, ‘What are you doing?’ I was going home to pass out because I had to get up at 6:30 for press. He goes, ‘I’m going to the gym, come with me.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not going to the gym at 4:30, what’s wrong with you?’ He’s like, ‘I have to go to work.’ ‘So do I.’ And I get a text when I wake up the next morning at 6:30, super-hungover feeling like crap, from my 72-year-old boss who’s bench-pressing 275 pounds giving me the finger.
Jericho ended the story by saying that this story was representative of Vince McMahon's work ethic.
What's next?
It's inevitable that Jericho will come back for another run. When he does, we're certain that he will even outshine the success he had with his current run.
Author's take
This was one of my favourite stories from Chris Jericho's new book. I will be reviewing it very soon for the site. The book is certainly full of laughs and will appeal to both rock n' roll and wrestling fans.
