WWE News: Chris Jericho to appear on the 25th anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw
Just weeks after his highly-acclaimed match at Wrestle Kingdom 12, Chris Jericho will return to WWE programming next week for the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw.
The appearance of Y2J for the 25th Anniversary was promoted in the latest WWE video package hyping the legends, alumni, and Hall of Famers slated to appear on the show.
This comes as a major shock to the wrestling world since this will be Jericho’s first WWE appearance since he announced he began appearing on New Japan Pro Wrestling to build up his dream match against Kenny Omega.
Jericho was expected to stay with NJPW past Wrestle Kingdom 12 after he attacked Tetsuya Naito at New Year’s Dash that would seemingly set up a feud between the two.
Jericho’s last WWE appearance was July 25, 2017 on SmackDown Live where the Ayatollah of Rock ‘N’ Rolla competed in a triple threat match against Kevin Owens and AJ Styles for the United States Championship.
There have been no plans revealed for any of the legends on the show, but Jericho could be involved in a major segment or possibly a match, but as of this writing, that is pure speculation
Jericho debuted on Monday Night Raw on August 9, 1999, after jumping ship from WCW.
Now, the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion will look to repeat these actions as he goes from NJPW to WWE in less than a month’s time.
