WWE News: CM Punk speaks about a return to WWE and his memories of the WWE

CM Punk is the longest reigning WWE champion of modern times with a 434 day reign to his name

CM Punk’s debut in the octagon is just a few days away. The former wrestler will enter the octagon at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall on Saturday.

CM Punk recently spoke with Carrlyn Bathe of The Wrestling Compadres Slamcast. Punk shed light on a number of issues including the fact about owning the 'CM Punk' name, how younger professional wrestlers could take a page out of his life, and whether he still misses anyone of his WWE colleagues.

Punk said that the younger professional wrestlers could learn from his example. He said:

"Oh yeah, I own my name. I think a lot of young guys now, in the [professional] wrestling industry can take a page out of my book and you can say 'no' to people. They might not like it, but I was, somehow, I was CM Punk when I was 15 years old, wrestling in backyards in Mokena, Illinois, so I don't know how it lasted this long. I don't know how it lasted this long. I don't know why. But, yeah, that's what we're going with."

Punk admitted that he did in fact miss some people from the WWE. He took up the topic of returning to the WWE. This is  that fans have speculated about long after his departure. He said that the thought of going back to the WWE was like going to summer school.

Punk likened his situation to a quote from the movie Stand by Me when he said that friends go in and out of life like the busboy at local dinners. He did say that we was in touch with some of the genuine people from the place. In Punk’s words, he had good memories in WWE but they were coupled with some nightmares.

"There [are] individuals that you see on a daily basis that, one day, I just stopped seeing. There's a quote in the movie Stand By Me, 'friends go in and out of your life like the busboy at your local diner' and that's kind of life. Screws fall in and fall out and I've kept in touch with some genuine folks from there and there are some that, if I run into at an airport, I'd probably hug and say, 'hey, how are you doing?' and catch up real quick. But, yeah, there [are] definitely people and situations, those are memories. Those are all good memories, but the thought of going back there is like the thought of going to summer school. It's like, you have nightmares about it."

Punk didn’t have the most amicable departure from the WWE two years ago after he was fired on his wedding day. He had the appeared on the Colt Cabana podcast and dropped pipebomb after pipebomb on Vince McMahon, Triple H, Ryback and even WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann. He is now impending a lawsuit from Dr. Amann for defamation.
