WWE News: Cris Cyborg comments on Ronda Rousey's WWE debut

C
The dream fight between Cris Cyborg and Ronda Rousey never happened...yet.

What's the story?

Wrestling Inc. is reporting on a recent interview that UFC Women's Featherweight Champion, Cris Cyborg, had with MMA Fighting. One of the major topics they covered was Cyborg's thoughts on Ronda Rousey joining the WWE.

In case you didn't know...

Cyborg began her MMA career in 2005 at a show in Brazil where she lost to a kneebar submission. Since then, she has never been defeated and currently sports a 19-1 professional record. She has four career fights within the UFC with the last coming on December 30, 2017 when she defeated Holly Holm at UFC 219.

The heart of the matter...

After Asuka won the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble Match, she was joined in the ring by the two women's champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Then, out of nowhere, Joan Jett started to play in the arena, and there was Ronda Rousey making her debut.

Cyborg stated that Rousey will be happy in the WWE, but it will be a whole new world for her with the wins and losses determined ahead of time compared to MMA.

When it comes to the world of professional wrestling, Cyborg would be more than happy to have a match with Rousey "if she is really done fighting." She believed that a match between the two MMA juggernauts would be something the WWE Universe would definitely get excited about.

What's next?

Triple H recently stated that Rousey is currently finishing a movie in Columbia, and once that is wrapped up she will report full-time to the WWE Performance Center. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for further updates on when Rousey will make her next appearance in the WWE.

Author's take...

I wonder how stiff those ladies would work if they had a match in the WWE, but it would definitely be a special attraction the WWE should consider if all parties involved are interested.

I'm more than excited to see what Rousey brings to the WWE. Since she's a major fan, she'll adjust quickly and, considering she's all-in in terms of her time commitment with the company, we're going to be in for some magical moments the next few years!
