WWE News: Daniel Bryan "angling" for a return after Kurt Angle's triumphant TLC match
What's the story?
Just minutes before the WWE Tables Ladders & Chairs main event occurred, Daniel Bryan took to Twitter with a very interesting tease. Take a look at his post below:
In case you didn't know...
Roman Reigns was unable to compete in the 5-on-3 handicap main event match involving The Shield against The Miz, Braun Strowman, Sheamus, Cesaro, and Kane.
The WWE announced on Friday afternoon that Raw General Manager Kurt Angle would replace Reigns, marking his first match in a WWE ring in over 11 years.
The heart of the matter
Bryan is correct, there was a time where the WWE wouldn't bring back Kurt Angle for fear that he could seriously hurt himself based on his history of injuries and alcoholism, as was evident on his WWE 24 special.
As those who watched the special know, Angle has been clean and sober for over four years now. He's even competed in gruelling matches in 2017, including a steel cage match with Cody Rhodes.
Bryan does like to troll the internet and has teased a return many times on social media. I feel like there is more validity to a possible Daniel Bryan return here more than ever after last week's edition of SmackDown Live.
Bryan's doctors cleared him to return to the ring, but the WWE haven't. It is possible that they have re-evaluated Bryan and could set up a return against Owens and Zayn, maybe with Shane McMahon in a tag match.
What's next?
It is unknown if Bryan will be in this week's edition of SmackDown Live, but he let Zayn and Owens know at the end of the show that the person to determine what's next for the best friends is the returning Shane McMahon.
You can expect some further progression towards this feud and the Survivor Series card this week.
Author's take
If it is safe for Daniel Bryan to return to the ring, I really only have one thing to say...
In regards to last night, Kurt Angle was AMAZING. Everything with him involved was special, from Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose handing him the Shield gear to wear to the ring with him, to just seeing him compete in a WWE ring once again.
If Bryan was able to return to the ring, it will bring a lot of hype and excitement just like the return of Angle did when the WWE announced it just 48 hours before TLC.
I really hope it happens, and I really hope the return is a match against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, and personally, I'd love to see his partner be AJ Styles or Shinsuke Nakamura.
