WrestleMania 35 News: Daniel Bryan reveals thoughts on not main-eventing the PPV
What's the story?
WWE Champion Daniel Bryan has said he is not main-eventing WrestleMania 35 because he is facing a "B+ player" in Kofi Kingston.
In case you didn't know
Daniel Bryan returned from retirement at WrestleMania 34, and shockingly turned heel to capture the WWE Championship in November 2018.
After overcoming obstacle after obstacle, Kofi Kingston will challenge Bryan for the title, in the Ghanaian Superstar's first singles shot at the title in his eleven-year career.
During their feud, Bryan has called Kingston a 'B+ player', a term used by the Authority to describe the then-face Bryan in 2014.
The heart of the matter
Speaking to Sky Sports, Bryan said he supported the first-ever Women's WrestleMania main event, but said he would have been in that spot if he was facing someone better.
"Realistically, I’m going against a B+ player. If I were going against like the elite, the top guys in our industry, the greatest guys in WWE, then I’d be in the main event.
"Floyd Mayweather, you put him against a nobody in a boxing match, it’s just not gonna draw, right?"
The WWE Champion also claimed that Kingston lacked Bryan's ability to 'knock down doors' backstage and impress officials.
"You have to knock down doors, and Kofi Kingston has been sitting there, waiting outside that door for eleven years. And Xavier Woods, no matter how smart he is, he can’t knock down that door for him, and Big E, no matter how strong he is, he can’t knock down that door for him.
"If he hasn’t done it after 11 years, he’s certainly not gonna do it on Sunday.” H/T Credit: SkySports
