WWE News: Daniel Bryan's WWE schedule revealed
What’s the story?
Per WWE listings, Daniel Bryan is likely to work on a full-time WWE schedule for the foreseeable future.
Apparently, WWE is advertising Bryan for matches well into the month of July. This, in turn, contradicts prior speculation that Bryan would only be allowed to wrestle on a part-time basis.
In case you didn’t know…
Daniel Bryan reached the pinnacle of professional wrestling, at WrestleMania XXX in 2014—winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
However, Bryan announced his retirement from in-ring competition in early 2016, and subsequently assumed the role of SmackDown Live’s General Manager—a role he served in until the position was taken up by Paige last month.
The heart of the matter
After Daniel Bryan received medical clearance to make his in-ring return earlier this year, several experts noted that he may wrestle on a part-time schedule for WWE.
Nevertheless, per latest WWE listings, Bryan is being advertised for every SmackDown Live event, including WWE’s upcoming UK tour—except the June 29th house show in Tokyo and the July 1st show in Taipei.
Furthermore, the vast majority of professional wrestling experts believe that Bryan will indeed wrestle on a full-time basis for WWE in the days to come.
What’s next?
Daniel Bryan faces Big Cass at WWE’s Backlash PPV which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, May 6th.
Author’s take
Daniel Bryan is perhaps one of the grittiest, most charismatic performers in the history of professional wrestling.
Not only does Bryan understand the subtlety of the art of selling in pro-wrestling; but also comprehends that an emotional connect with the fans is just as important, if not more, than the mat-wrestling department.
Bryan seems to be primed to wrestle on a full-time basis in the WWE, and here’s looking forward to many more years of incredible performances from the Flying G.O.A.T.
