WWE News: Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon vs Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens announced for WrestleMania 34
One week after being medically cleared to compete in the WWE, Daniel Bryan announced that Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens will take on himself and Shane McMahon if McMahon is cleared for competition.
The stipulation for the tag match is that if Owens & Zayn win, they will be reinstated on SmackDown Live. If Bryan and McMahon win, Owens & Zayn will remain fired.
Owens & Zayn have been antagonizing McMahon since the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view and were nearly fired back in December at the Clash of Champions show, but Bryan saved their jobs.
McMahon announced two weeks ago that he was stepping down as the SmackDown commissioner and was taking a leave of absence before Owen & Zayn brutally attacked their boss.
The following week, Bryan fired Owens & Zayn for their actions and the duo attacked the SmackDown general manager in a similar fashion.
Zayn accepted the challenge from Bryan and vowed that WrestleMania 34 will be the worst night of their lives.
This will mark Bryan's first wrestling match since 2015 and his first WrestleMania match since WrestleMania 31 when the American Dragon captured the Intercontinental Championship to become a Grand Slam Champion.
The last time Bryan competed in a tag team match at a major pay-per-view was Survivor Series 2013 when he and CM Punk took on Luke Harper and Eric Rowan, but Bryan has also competed in tag team action at WrestleMania 29 when he and Kane beat Dolph Ziggler and Big E to retain the Raw Tag Team Championships.
With their jobs on the line and fans anticipating a win for Bryan, WWE could be using this match to get Owens & Zayn on Monday Night Raw to bolster the tag team division.
However, there is also the chance that McMahon could take the pin so Bryan doesn't have to lose directly, but that is pure speculation.
Regardless of the outcome, WrestleMania 34 just announced a major attraction for the show and will see Bryan return to the site of his greatest WWE victory.
