WWE News: Daniel Bryan wants WWE to release his documentary
Daniel Bryan had earlier taken to Twitter to express his disgruntlement on WWE for withholding his WrestleMania documentary. Bryan's tweet read as follows:
Bryan has urged all his fans to ask WWE to release the documentary. This highest selling point of this documentary is perhaps that it includes footage of Bryan wrestling a bear. Bryan was doing his best to get in shape before WrestleMania 32 with a glimmer of hope that he would be able to wrestle again.
The documentary features Bryan training to get back into the ring in time for WrestleMania 32. Bryan was out with an injury and a history of concussions shortly after WrestleMania 31. He even had to relinquish the Intercontinental Championship that he had won in the ladder match that opened WrestleMania 31.
Following his injury, Bryan went through a lot of concussion tests. His personal doctors had cleared him to compete but WWE did not allow him to get into the ring yet. Given the history that WWE has with concussions to workers, they played it very safe in Bryan’s case and approached the issue with caution.
Bryan had to finally retire on the 8 February episode of Monday Night RAW. Bryan had earlier that day announced his retirement due to some medical reasons via Twitter. Later that night on RAW, Bryan bade farewell to his in-ring career in one of the most emotional segments in WWE history. Another reason why emotions ran high that night might have been because he was in Seattle, Washington which is Bryan’s home state.
Bryan told the WWE Universe that he was grateful for all the experiences that wrestling had given him. The next day on ESPN, Bryan revealed that he had suffered a total of 10 documented concussions throughout his career and many might have not been detected or diagnosed. He said a recent EEG reflex test had revealed that there was actually a chronic lesion in his brain's temporal region, which explained Bryan's post-concussion seizures.
This documentary is a testimony of the hard worker and dedicated person that Bryan is. Although his career was cut short, he continues to be one of the most beloved superstars of this generation. It is unfortunate that we might not be able to watch him wrestle ever again, but it is through these documentaries that the WWE Universe can relive the magic that was the ‘Yes Movement’.
