WWE News: Dash Wilder comments on The Revival's lackluster title run

The Revival are Raw Tag Team champions but have they been booked like it?
The Revival are Raw Tag Team champions but have they been booked like it?

What's the story?

Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson defeated Chad Gable and Bobby Roode for the Raw Tag Team titles, but Wilder feels that they haven't been treated as champions should be.

He recently requested some proper attention for the new champions, including actually getting televised entrances, on Twitter.

In case you missed it...

Although The Revival requested their releases from WWE earlier this year, the company didn't want to let go of the talented duo.

In order to keep the duo happy (to a degree), The Revival won the Raw Tag Team titles from the duo of Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. Even though they have been champions for the last few weeks, things might not have changed all that much in the Revival's eyes.

The heart of the matter

WWE allegedly promised the tag teams under their banner that they would put more of an emphasis on tag team wrestling than they previously have been.

Some new teams have formed (Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, Aleister Black and Ricochet) while another tag team from NXT, Heavy Machinery, has been featured on both Raw and SmackDown in the new year.

Even with some minor changes, The Revival feels that despite holding tag team gold, they still aren't treated with the respect of champions.

Some fans responded to Wilder and Dawson on Twitter, with one fan calling the team 'garbage' while another also chided the current champions.

The Revival can only do what they are booked to do, but WWE often has a champion lose to a Superstar in order to build up a match or feud for a forthcoming PPV.

What's next?

While it's great that The Revival did win the Raw tag team titles recently, it was more of a way for WWE to keep them slightly happy in the interim while they may or may not follow through on their promise to put more focus on the tag team division.

It is disheartening to see the supposed champion(s) of a show fail to consistently pick up wins, but the main thing is that they win when the titles are on the line.

They may have only one win in three matches since winning the titles, but none were with the gold on the line. Wilder is totally correct about the champions deserving a televised entrance, but with the likes of Black and Ricochet being shinier new toys, that wasn't going to happen.
