WWE News: Dave Bautista's movie, Avengers: Infinity War breaks Box Office Records
What's the story?
When talking about WWE Superstars who have made it big in Hollywood, usually the name of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and John Cena come to mind. Another star from the Ruthless Aggression Era and early PG Era, Dave Bautista, has made a name for himself in Hollywood.
According to Box Office Mojo, Avengers: Infinity War, the third Avengers movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, broke box office records this weekend. Bautista was a big part of the film and the Universe.
In case you didn't know...
Other than The Rock, Batista is one of the most successful former WWE stars to have made it in Hollywood. After he left WWE and his MMA career, he tried his luck in Hollywood and was able to make headway.
He landed a role as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy which led to his involvement in Infinity War. He also starred in Spectre and Heist, as well as Blade Runner 2049. He is set to star in the next Avengers film, as well as the next two Escape Plan films, which also star Stallone.
The heart of the matter
One of the biggest superhero movies to date, the star-studded Avengers: Infinity War launched this weekend with a massive reception by fans. The film was ten years in the making, ever since the launch of the Iron Man film in 2008.
The Box Office collection of the film in its opening weekend was monumental, beating the previous Marvel Cinematic Universe films, as well as shattering both the Domestic and the International Box Office records in its first weekend. The previous record had been held by another Disney film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made $247.9 Million in its opening weekend domestically.
The $250 Million Infinity War made broke this record. It shattered the worldwide record set by the Fate of the Furious of $541.9 Million. Worldwide Infinity War made $630 Million, without the film having released in China, where it is set to release on the 11th of May.
What's next?
The movie starring former WWE star Dave Bautista is projected to beat more records and possibly be the movie with the largest Box Office takings of all time.
Bautista announced that he will retire from wrestling in 2019, and he is willing to return to WWE before that time.

Bautista was excellent in his role as Drax the Destroyer in Infinity War. The role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has helped him break out in Hollywood, as he is now set to star in other big films as well.
