WWE News: Details about Kevin Owens' contract with WWE
What's the story?
WWE Superstar Kevin Owens spoke to Canadian website TVA Sports recently and among other things, he discussed the terms of the new contract he signed with WWE. We bring you the details.
In case you didn’t know…
Kevin Owens spent quite some time in other promotions and on the independent circuit before signing on with the WWE in 2014. In fact, Owens is a veteran in the industry, having spent more than 15 years in the business.
Owens fought under his birth name 'Kevin Steen' during his time before WWE. Most notably, he was part of Ring of Honor for more than 7 years, where he held the World Championship and the Tag Team Championship. Other notable promotions he has worked for include PWG and CZW.
The heart of the matter
Owens has been in WWE since 2014 and made his main roster debut in May 2015 when he answered John Cena's US Title Open Challenge, while he was still NXT Champion.
In the interview, the former Universal Champion revealed that he had signed a five-year contract with WWE and went on to say that he would stay in WWE till the company wanted him to, possibly even until he retired.
This is what KO had to say (translated from French):
"Hopefully I do not see why I will not finish my career with WWE. I just recently signed a new five-year contract with them. I do not intend to go anywhere (until) my contract is up. If the WWE wants to continue, if I want to continue and my family is ready for me to continue, I do not see why it would not happen. "
What's next?
Owens got drafted to Raw in the Superstar Shakeup 2018. Most recently, he lost to Braun Strowman in a qualifying match on Raw for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. It remains to be seen what is next for the former Universal Champion.

KO is one of the last true old-school wrestlers left in the business today, he truly believes in keeping kayfabe all the time. He is fantastic on the mic and in the ring and is sure to have a stellar career in WWE.
