WWE News: Dolph Ziggler feels that his match should have been the main event of No Mercy

Dolph Ziggler won the Intercontinental Title at No Mercy in a spectacular match against the Miz

SmackDown Live’s second exclusive pay per view, No Mercy wasn’t different from its predecessor from last month. The event tore the house down with exciting matches and a triple threat title match for the WWE World Championship that opened the pay per view for the first time.

A triumphant Ziggler appeared on Talking Smack and said that given how great the Intercontinental Championship matches have been lately, a match for the title should have been the main event a pay per view. Ziggler said that his match deserved to go last. He iterated the fact that when there was a stipulation like his match had, it should have been considered for the main event.

There was a big chip on the shoulder of Dolph Ziggler coming into the pay per view, as his career was on the line against the Miz. Of late, Ziggler hadn’t been able to win the big ones. He did win a title shot against Ambrose at SummerSlam, but that fizzled out without creating too many ripples.

Ziggler looked to move his attention to the Intercontinental Title picture but The Miz had Ziggler’s number in their previous encounters when he used unfair means to oust Ziggler from a much needed Intercontinental Title reign.

The Miz ridiculed Ziggler’s whole career calling it a joke and a failure right from the latter’s time with the Spirit Squad. This drove Ziggler to the point of desperation, so much so that he agreed to hang his boots if he couldn’t beat Miz in a one on one match-up for the title. And so when the two met at No Mercy, they tore the house down.

In what can only be described as the best match of the night, Ziggler and Miz put up a show that will be remembered for a long time to come. Spot after spot, the fans in Sacramento and those at home were on their feet and biting their nails as the momentum of the match swung to and fro. Ziggler overcame literally everything to win the title, be it something that Maryse sprayed into his eyes, an exposed turnbuckle, the Spirit Squad, an injured foot, and even two Skull Crushing Finales by the Miz.

Daniel replied that the thought of placing that match at the end the show had popped up in his mind but was later swapped with the Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt match. However, Daniel apologized for the lapse and said that he would right that wrong in future.

Ziggler brought calm to the proceedings when he said that he didn’t mind where his match was on the card because his aim was to go out there and leave it all in the ring. He said that he was privileged to be a part of the blue brand that had an amazing roster and put up great matches.
