WWE News: Dolph Ziggler possibly turning heel during his SummerSlam match

Dolph Ziggler is one of the most underutilized talents in the WWE.

WWE surprised fans when they chose Dolph Zigler as the one to face the top champion of SmackDown Dean Ambrose at their second biggest annual PPV, SummerSlam. Many fans felt very happy about it and praised WWE for finally recognizing Dolph's potential as a main event talent while others frowned upon the decision.

The fans who are in the latter group are not so optimistic about the decision-making capability of WWE Officials. According to them, Dolph does not have a legit shot at the championship since Dean Ambrose only won it a couple of months ago and Ziggler might return to mid cards as soon as right after SummerSlam.

However, a new report has opened a completely new possibility for the career of the ‘Show Off’. According to the reports at inquisitr.com, Dolph Ziggler can possibly turn heel during or at least following his match for the WWE Championship.

A heel turn would mean that the former World Champion would be able to continue his feud with Ambrose, which would otherwise become stale after SummerSlam due to the face-vs-face dynamic. It could also possibly mean that he could have a legit shot at the championship somewhere down the line.

It's notable here that the former WWE star Taz also discussed the idea of Dolph turning heel in a recent podcast pointing out that SmackDown is lacking a heel with big-time star power in comparison to Raw's Seth Rollins and Ziggler could certainly be the one to carry the load on his shoulders.

What really happens at SummerSlam is yet to be seen but the idea of making Ziggler a heel certainly looks to be a promising one and would definitely allow WWE to explore new possibilities with his character.
