WWE News: Drew McIntyre gets new entrance theme

He’s back!

What’s the story?

NXT’s recently acquired Drew McIntyre, debuted his new theme song as he returned to the ring for Wednesday night’s tapings for the yellow brand at Full Sail University. The footage recorded in this set of tapings will air on April 12th and 26th. You can hear a snippet of his entrance song below:

In case you didn’t know...

At the beginning of 2017, McIntyre, who was originally in Impact, decided not to re-sign with the company. He maintained that the reason for this was that the promotion approached him at the last minute.

This performance at the tapings marks the start of McIntyre’s second stint with the WWE. The news of his return was confirmed after NXT TakeOver: Orlando. In his first run, he managed to win the Intercontinental Championship thrice and the tag team Championships once with Cody Rhodes. He also formed the 3-Man Band with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal.

The heart of the matter

McIntyre debuted his new theme song before wrestling Oney Lorcan and Andrade “Cien” Almas for episodes, which will be aired on April 12th and 26th respectively. Many fans were unhappy that McIntyre’s entrance theme in his first stint, “Broken Dreams”, will no longer be used and took to social media to express their discontent.

What’s next?

Drew McIntyre will now try to embark on a far more successful second tenure in the WWE and it currently looks like this is highly possible. Furthermore, with Shinsuke Nakamura and Tye Dillinger being called up to the main roster there seems to be enough room for McIntyre to enter the main event scene.

Author’s take

We wish McIntyre the best of luck in his second tenure in the WWE and hope that it doesn’t fizzle out like it did the first time.
