WWE News: Drew McIntyre on how the WWE Raw locker room has changed
What's the story?
In a recent candid interview with WWE.com, Monday Night Raw superstar Drew McIntyre weighed in his thoughts on the current Raw locker room and how the environment within the locker room has changed in comparison to his previous run with the company.
In case you didn't know…
After being released from the WWE in 2014, Drew McIntyre made his return in early 2017 when it was reported that he had resigned with the company once again and will be performing under the company's developmental brand, better known as NXT.
Shortly after his NXT debut, McIntyre went on to capture the NXT Championship and became a force to be reckoned with, however, on 3rd January, 2018, Drew McIntyre suffered his first singles loss on NXT when he lost the NXT Championship to Andrade "Cien" Almas at NXT Takeover: WarGames.
Following the match, it was revealed that McIntyre had suffered a torn bicep which apparently put the Scottish superstar on the sidelines for almost nine months.
During this year's WWE Superstar Shake-up, Drew McIntyre made his WWE return when he made his debut for the red brand of Monday Night Raw and eventually formed a new alliance with former WWE World Champion Dolph Ziggler.
The heart of the matter
While recently speaking with the WWE website, Drew McIntyre claimed that the current situation of the Monday Night Raw locker room seems to be pretty moderate, considering the fact that there is no tension within the superstars backstage and everyone is getting along like a band camp - which is pretty disappointing, to say the least.
McIntyre was quoted as saying the following:
"I remember thinking, 'Man, people are so relaxed now,' acting like it's not live Raw. There's no tension in the air - everyone is just getting along like we're at band camp. There are Superstars that deserve to be at the top and do give everything. But unfortunately, a vast majority wouldn't have survived 11 years ago when I got signed. Those who ask themselves, 'Is he talking about me?' Positive or negative, the answer is probably yes."
What's next?
Drew McIntyre is currently performing on Monday Night Raw and his alliance with Dolph Ziggler is indeed turning out to be very menacing and threatening for other tag teams as well.
Author's take
Personally, I’m really excited to follow McIntyre's journey in the WWE and I believe that on this occasion, things will be a lot more different for the former WWE IC Champion on the main roster.
