WWE News: Drew McIntyre sends out an advance warning to the NXT roster
What’s the story?
This past Sunday, former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre tweeted out an advance warning to the rest of the NXT roster and put them on notice ahead of his big return from a bicep injury, which he suffered back in November.
In case you didn’t know…
During last year’s NXT TakeOver: WarGames pay-per-view in November, then NXT Champion Drew McIntyre suffered a devastating bicep injury during his title match against Andrade “Cien” Almas at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
McIntyre, who captured the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, eventually lost the belt to Almas at TakeOver: WarGames after holding the title for a total of 91 days.
The heart of the matter
Drew McIntyre has been slowly but gradually making progress in his quest to return to WWE NXT, following his torn bicep injury back in November of 2017. According to recent reports, McIntyre has also been spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and apparently, there is also a strong possibility of him been being back in time for WrestleMania weekend.
However, despite all the reports and rumors, one thing is now for sure that upon his return to NXT, Drew McIntyre will once again make his way to the top and tear through anyone who stands in his path, as this week, the Scottish superstar made his intentions pretty much clear when he sent out an advance warning to the rest of the NXT roster.
In his tweet, McIntyre stated that regardless of the great stuff that has been going on in NXT recently, he has somewhat noticed some complacency across the board. Furthermore, McIntyre claimed that he has never worked this hard in his life and promises to wreak havoc on entire NXT roster if they’re not capable enough of reaching his level in the ring.
What’s next?
McIntyre could possibly make his WWE return during WrestleMania 34 weekend and could potentially make an appearance at TakeOver: New Orleans.
Author’s take
Drew McIntyre’s injury occurred when he was at the peak of his game during his second tenure with NXT, however, personally, I hope that upon his return to NXT, McIntyre gets a shot at the NXT Championship and gets another run with the belt in the near future.
