WWE News: Edge confirms the E&C Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness has not been cancelled
What's the story?
Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated recently spoke with WWE Hall of Famer Edge. One of the topics they covered was the popular Edge & Christian Show That Totally Reeks Of Awesomeness show that is on the WWE Network.
Within the interview, Edge confirms that the show is not cancelled and has a chance to come back in 2018.
In case you didn't know...
The Edge & Christian Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness debuted on the WWE Network in February of 2016. The best way to describe it would be a variety show with games and skits that included guests such as Mick Foley, Tommy Dreamer, and even The Shockmaster.
The heart of the matter
As Edge was talking about his role in the season premiere of Vikings this week on the History Channel, he mentioned the WWE Network show. The ability to be able to produce the show comes down to having the time to do it. Fitting it into the schedule is the hardest part.
Edge would go into detail about the long hours it would take to produce the show. Take a look at his quote below:
“We wrote it, produced it, directed it, and were really hands-on. There were 14-hour days and it was pretty intensive from a time perspective. There are still talks, and they want to do it.”
He mentioned that there is a hiatus in the filming of Vikings in the summer of next year, so there is a possibility that they could get it done then.
"I want to spend time with my family, too. It’s a matter of trying to juggle all these things, but the top priority is being dad and partner, and then comes acting and any other commitments, all the while doing the podcast, too. It’s a matter of wearing a lot of hats, but I just don’t know if my head is big enough for all of them.”
What's next?
Season five of Vikings on the History Channel just kicked off on November 29th and the next episode will air on Wednesday, December 6th. You can also check out Edge and Christian's Pod Of Awesomeness podcast that airs every Friday.
Author's take
I definitely understand how tough it is for Edge and Christian to get the WWE Network show done with their families and busy schedule. It's great to hear that they still want to do another season of the show because it was truly one of the best original shows to appear on the network.
