WWE News: Elias sends a chilling warning to Roman Reigns On Twitter
What's the story?
Roman Reigns has been The big dog in WWE for quite some time now, and although his leukemia diagnosis last year derailed his progress, he has come back better than ever. In fact, he completely dismantled Drew McIntyre during their match at WrestleMania 35 and then got moved to Smackdown Live the next week, in what Vince McMahon called "the blue brand's biggest acquisition ever".
If nothing else, it was a surreal moment to see Roman Reigns on the blue brand and even more bizarre to see him Superman Punch his real-life boss, Vince McMahon, sending him to the mat. Beyond the immediate shock of the moment, which reverberated throughout the crowd as it happened, it also put Reigns on a collision course with Elias.
Interestingly enough, Elias took to Twitter to let the WWE Universe know what was going to happen to Reigns during their match at Money in the bank, and seemed to call out his god-like status within WWE in the process.
In case you didn't know...
With that being said, Elias, who also came to Smackdown Live during the Superstar shakeup, seems to be acting as a henchman for the McMahon family along with Shane McMahon. He is now on a collision course with Reigns after getting a spear of his own during his first night on Smackdown Live, and his attack on Reigns the next week.
This comes at a time when the WWE Universe has made it clear that they don't want Reigns anywhere near the title picture right now, and it seems like the company is listening to that request. Interestingly enough, however, they seem to be blending storyline and reality regarding Reigns' stroke within the company, which could lead to some interesting possibilities.
The heart of the matter
Elias took to Twitter this week to let Roman Reigns know exactly what he was going to do to him at the Money in the bank pay per view. Not only does the tweet take a shot at Reigns' real-life struggle between being the corporate pick for a top guy and being loved by the fans, but it also makes things extremely personal in the process.
What's next?
Elias and Roman Reigns will face off against each other at Money in the bank and it feels obvious that Shane McMahon will be involved in some capacity as well. Maybe this is WWE's way to trick the fans into getting behind Roman Reigns again by showing that he isn't the defacto face of the company, but what's to stop them from changing that once he's established?
In the end, WWE is playing a very dangerous game with Roman Reigns right now and it could result in the plan backfiring if they are not careful.
