WWE News: Enzo Amore compares himself to Kurt Angle, teases coming out of retirement
What's the story?
Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore, known as nZo, is back at it on Twitter, this time teasing a return to the ring from retirement, and comparing himself to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.
In case you didn't know...
Former WWE star Enzo Amore was released from WWE at the beginning of 2018 after allegations surfaced that Amore sexually assaulted a female. The release came on the heels of the allegations, along with a string of prior incidents and behavioral issues WWE had with the then-205 Live star.
The allegations against Amore proved, ultimately, to be false, and no official charges were filed against the former WWE star.
Amore and his former tag team partner Big Cass recently made headlines when the two appeared at a Ring of Honor event, but nothing has been announced regarding the tag team's status with the company since their appearance.
The heart of the matter
Enzo Amore has teased possibly coming out of retirement with a new post on Instagram, commenting on the upcoming Wrestling Under the Stars event.
In the post, Amore notes he and Angle are both retired, but wonders if North East Wrestling promoter Mikey Lombardi could coax the two former WWE stars into a match.
"We’ve stood in front of thunderous crowds chanting our names, beloved, hated, either way: Champions. Both of us Great, and both of us.... Retired," wrote Amore.
What's next?
It's highly unlikely that Kurt Angle would come out of retirement to face Enzo Amore, given Angle just had his retirement match against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35.
As for Amore, it's certainly possible he could be booked to compete in a match at the upcoming Wrestling Under the Stars event, but it appears that would be up to the promoter. For what it's worth, Amore's former WWE tag team partner Big Cass is being advertised to appear at the North East Wrestling event.
