WWE News: Eric Young speaks about SAnitY and their potential in the WWE
What’s the story?
Eric Young appeared on a recent episode of Edge & Christian’s Podcast of Awesomeness and spoke about working with the other members of his stable, SAnitY, and their limitless potential in WWE.
In case you didn't know...
SAnity is an NXT Stable that also includes Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe and Nikki Cross. They defeated the team of Tye Dillinger, Ruby Riot, Roderick Strong and Kassius Ohno at NXT Takeover: Orlando. Several fans have suggested that the faction was inspired by characters from the Fallout video game series.
The heart of the matter
When asked about his stable, Eric Young stated that they were a big ‘maniac group’ and that he was the leader. He also said that while the other three members had wrestled around the world, they were still new to TV. Here are his exact words:
“They’ve got me in this group, SAni†Y, and I’m the leader. You know, maniac group and it feels really good. The other three, Nikki [Cross], [Alexander] Wolfe, and [Big] Damo [aka Killian Dain], they’re new to TV, but they’re all people who’ve kind of wrestled all over the place, so they’re experienced that way. But they’re learning that wrestling on TV is completely different than wrestling independently. So I’m there to kind of like help that along and that’s kind of a cool position for me to be in.”
When Edge and Christian quizzed the 37-year-old about SAnity’s prospects, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion declared that the group didn’t have a ceiling. He added that they had only scratched the surface of their potential and that the opportunities were endless. Here is the quote:
“The group, for me, doesn’t feel like there’s a ceiling and that’s new to me, the vastness, the machine that WWE/NXT is. It’s an army of people and basically anything that you can think up in your head, like, it happens. They can make it happen and that’s new to me. And it’s exciting, man. And I know it’s cliche, but we’re just scratching the surface of what it can be and I don’t think anyone knows what it is yet, which is cool. We’re kind of figuring it out as we go and the opportunity of it is endless, and the imagery of it is cool, the music is cool.”
What's next?
On the most recent episode of NXT, Eric Young defeated Tye Dillinger and put an end to their rivalry. Needless to say, a new program is on the horizon for SAnitY.
Author’s take
While it is very unfair, most modern WWE factions will be compared to The Shield and The Wyatt Family. However, SAnitY has the potential to break out on their own and make an impact on the world of professional wrestling.
