What’s the story?

On this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, all seven men from this year’s Men's Elimination Chamber match were part of a gruesome Gauntlet Match throughout which “The Architect”, Seth Rollins managed to put up a historic performance as he lasted over an hour in the match.

Following his impressive performance, Rollins was praised by several top names from the wrestling business including his past adversary and former Universal Champion Finn Balor, who showed his gratitude towards “The Kingslayer” via the social media.

In case you didn’t know…

Over the past few years or so, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor have had the quite the rivalry with each other in the WWE. The two former NXT Champions first collided in a WWE ring during the 2016 Summerslam pay-per-view, when Balor overcame Rollins in a splendid one-on-one match in order to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion.

In recent months, both men have also shared the ring on several occasions as part of six-man tag team matches and on the latest episode of Raw, Seth Rollins avenged his SummerSlam 2016 loss after he successfully defeated Balor in a rematch, via the Curb Stomp.

The heart of the matter

Moments after this week’s Raw went off the air, Finn Balor took it to his official Twitter account and stated in a latest tweet, that despite all the controversies between him and Rollins over the past two years, Balor has nothing but respect towards Rollins and his historic performance during the Gauntlet Match in which “The Architect” lasted for a total of 65 minutes and successfully defeated two of WWE’s biggest superstars in Roman Reigns and John Cena.

Additionally, Balor also decided to send out a warning to Intercontinental Champion The Miz and his fellow Miztourage members, as the leader of the Balor Club wrote that this is a game of chess and not checkers and claimed that he will be waiting for The Miz inside the Elimination Chamber, this Sunday.

What’s next?

The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is scheduled to take place this Sunday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and for the first time ever, seven men will enter the gruesome Elimination Chamber structure.

Author’s Take

As noted in the past, there have been several reports of The Miz and Finn Balor engaging in a feud against each other on the Road to WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans and it looks like we are indeed heading down that path right now and maybe the WWE Universe will, after all, be treated to an Intercontinental Title match between Balor and The Miz in New Orleans later in the year.
