WWE News: Finn Balor goes to war with Mousa Dembélé in hilarious video

Balor Club meets Tottenham Hotspur Football Club: Finn and Mousa Dembele

What's the story?

Finn Balor has been a Tottenham Hotspur fan ever since his brother introduced him to the club as a child, and he's been often seen mingling with the stars at the club when WWE visits the UK for their bi-annual live tours.

Now he's had a war of words with one of their midfielders, Mousa Dembélé, in a joke battle posted on the club's Facebook page.

In case you didn't know…

Tottenham seem to be a popular choice for WWE Superstars, as John Cena has also said he would support them if he was a football fan, in an article you can read more about here.

Cena
Cena has also paid a visit to Tottenham Hotspur while in the UK

Finn, however, has supported the club for a little bit longer - and has been aligned with Tottenham publicly for a fair few years now, even being interviewed for the club website last year about their title hopes, which you can read here.

With WWE having no offseason, Finn obviously doesn't make it to many games, but The Ordinary Man Who Does Extraordinary Things visited White Hart Lane in late 2016 when injured to watch Spurs defeat White Hart Lane to watch our 3-0 win over Hull City just before Christmas - a visit where he also met then Spurs right-back Kyle Walker.

The heart of the matter

Finn paid a visit in November when WWE Live hit the UK, a visit which saw superstars also visit Manchester City and say Sheamus and Cesaro play a classic move in Manchester when they appeared on WWE Raw in Liverpool kits.

On Finn's most recent visit, he even taught Mousa the too sweet...

But this must have been before Mousa was running his mouth, in the words of Balor. The pair had to try to make each other laugh in the video. Thankfully it was all in jest and we don't imagine the pair will be facing off in the ring or on the pitch anytime soon - but it wouldn't be the first time a footballer has got caught up in the action as Wade Barrett found out when Wayne Rooney struck him at a WWE event, and Rangers striker Kenny Miller has also appeared as guest timekeeper in the past.

What's next?

Balor, though, is Spurs through and through and managed to see White Hart Lane in its last season as Spurs' home ground.

"I was really glad to make it to the Lane,” he said. “I was a little bit worried I wouldn’t make it again until the new stadium was built so it’s an honour to be here today." He said on his visit last season.

Unfortunately this trip didn't allow a visit of Balor Club during a matchday as schedules didn't match up, but with WWE announcing a tour for next Spring, we can't imagine it'll be too long until Balor is back, and hopefully, we'll see more hilarious videos too!

Author's take

It's always great to see WWE Superstars doing these appearances, especially when it's something they're passionate about. Balor might bring more eyes to the product if Spurs fans watch these videos, and that's what it's all about for WWE on these trips.

It's also great to see WWE working with loads of athletes in the UK, and with former German goalkeeper Tim Weise training with WWE for the past two years, it may not be too long before we see more footballers and WWE Superstars going head to head.
