WWE News: Update on Finn Balor's injury and recovery

Lazy Boy Chair for Balor

Finn Balor recently injured his right shoulder at SummerSlam while becoming the first ever WWE Universal Champion, before having to relinquish his title because of this injury. Balor underwent surgery for getting his shoulder fixed and will be out of action for at least six months. He recently participated in Jim Ross’ “The Ross Report” podcast where he shared a lot of details regarding his injury and surgery.

Sleeping is one of Balor’s biggest problems. Unable to lay on his neck, Balor can’t roll around the bed i.e. he cannot switch positions, which doesn’t let him get a good night’s sleep. Thus, to solve this problem, Balor will have to sleep on a “Lazy boy chair” for the next six weeks.

The “Lazy boy chair” will prevent Finn from rolling over in his sleep onto his injured shoulder. Alongside this new sleeping method, Balor will also undergo strict rehabilitation at the WWE Performance Centre two times a day. This might turn out to be a tough ordeal for Balor considering the fact that he has to change his method for sleeping.

Balor injured his shoulder after taking a powerbomb from Seth Rollins on the barricade outside the ring during his match for the inaugural WWE Universal Championship. Finn even after sustaining the injury continued working the entire match and in the end won the title.

Balor’s injury caused uproar amongst several fans and even some wrestlers calling Seth Rollins an unsafe worker, and calling his powerbomb move unsafe. Sting after taking a powerbomb on the turnbuckle from Rollins suffered a life-threatening neck injury. Also, during a match with John Cena on RAW, Rollins accidently broke his nose after hitting him with his knee.

Coming back to Balor, it has been reported that Balor’s injury might make him miss WrestleMania next year because the Labrum tear found on his shoulder is more than what the doctor’s expected. Initially, it was reported that the injury might rule him out for 6 months, with speculations that Balor might return at next year’s Royal Rumble, but, according to the current reports that might not happen.

Even though Finn is their next big star and the potential face of the company, the WWE will not risk bringing him back until he recuperates as per their standards. What do you guys think? When will Balor make his return? Please, tell us your thoughts by writing them in the comments below
