WWE News: First ever Women's Elimination Chamber Match confirmed
Fresh off of possibly the biggest night in the history of women's wrestling, Stephanie McMahon kicked off RAW by announcing yet another first-ever match for the women of the WWE!
Just as Asuka was about to confirm which WWE Champion she would face at WrestleMania, Stephanie McMahon said she should wait as Alexa Bliss may no longer be RAW Women's Champion in four weeks - as she will defend her Championship in the Elimination Chamber.
The Elimination Chamber matches have been a fan favourite among the WWE Universe for the men since the 2002 Survivor Series with the match even getting its own annual event in 2010. It's now a staple on the road to WrestleMania with the men's Chamber match set to determine Brock Lesnar's opponent for the biggest night of the year.
In the past year and a bit, the Women's Revolution has gone through many evolutions with several first-ever matches - including the Royal Rumble, the Money In The Bank Ladder Match and even Hell In A Cell. The Elimination Chamber seems the most logical next step when it comes to equality in wrestling and the announcement came right from the top of RAW from the commissioner Stephanie McMahon.
Well, now the ladies will make history once more as the women of RAW will take another stride in proving they can do anything the men can on February 25th in Las Vegas and we're sure they'll steal the show yet again!
The females first headlined a pay-per-view in October 2016 when Sasha Banks went one on one with Charlotte Flair, and it seems nothing unusual now with the Women's Royal Rumble Match even headlining the monumental event last night. Will the women headline the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view? We don't need to wait too long to find out as we'll see in just under one month!
