WWE News: First participants for Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal confirmed
What's the story?
As well as the Women's WrestleMania Battle Royal, it seems that WWE will also bring back the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal for the fifth time and The Revival are the first team to announce their participation.
In case you didn't know...
There was speculation a few weeks ago that WWE had scrapped the Andre the Giant Battle Royal in favour of the Women's Battle Royal, which would be another step in the right direction when it comes to the Women's Revolution.
Of course, it seems that this isn't the case since this year the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is much more important as it takes place just two days before the release of HBO's documentary which centres around the WWE Legend and Hall of Famer himself, which premieres on 10 April.
This year also marks 25 years since the death of Andre and it seems that this year's version of the annual match could see the winner receive much more than just a trophy.
The heart of the matter
Following their victory over Titus Worldwide and the fact that Braun Strowman has already taken the place that The Revival should have had at WrestleMania, the duo decided to become the first stars to announce their places in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal next month and confirmed the return of the match for the fifth year in a row.
It is unclear as to whether or not this match with be a 30-man battle royal much like in previous years, but it will be interesting to see which other stars declare themselves for the match in the coming weeks.
What's next?
The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal returns at WrestleMania on 8 April so it's only a few short weeks away.
Author's take
Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder haven't been able to make the impact they had hoped for on the main roster over the past few months, but it seems that their first WrestleMania appearance will definitely boost their hopes in the future.
There will be a number of stars added to the match in the coming weeks, which means that not only will this be a stacked match, but it will also be a stacked WrestleMania card, with two huge battle royal's now confirmed.
