What’s the story?

Nikki Bella has been absent from WWE programming since she and John Cena defeated The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33, but the former Diva’s Champion returned to Raw in Anaheim, California, to promote her appearance on Dancing with the Stars.

In case you didn’t know...

Bella held the now-defunct Diva’s Championship for a record 301 days before losing it to Charlotte Flair in 2015. Bella remained absent from WWE programming until SummerSlam 2016 after rehabbing a neck injury.

The Total Bellas star almost missed her WrestleMania match following a neck injury scare, but was cleared by medical personnel to compete in the mixed tag team match that ended with her engagement to Cena.

The heart of the matter

Nikki Bella and her dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev, made their way to the ring during a commercial break and talked about their upcoming appearance on Dancing With The Stars.

After showing off some of their moves for this season, Nikki Bella hit Chigvintsev with a body slam and struck her fiancé’s signature pose.

Nikki Bella’s appearance on Dancing With The Stars will mark the third time a wrestler has competed on the show, after Stacy Keibler and Chris Jericho.

What’s next?

The upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars will air on CBS Television starting on September 18, 2017, and will mark the twenty-fifth season of the series since its release in 2005.

There will be 11 other celebrities and professional dancers competing on the program and the show will more than likely conclude in the last weeks of November.

Author’s take

It’s great to see Nikki Bella doing well outside of wrestling and hopefully, she can step up to this latest challenge. Stacy Keibler ranked third in the second season of Dancing With The Stars and that may prove to be the measuring stick for Bella’s appearance.
