Former NXT Champion possibly injured at a recent Live Event
One of the rarest things that can happen in WWE is crowning new champions at live events. Not just any championship, the NXT Championship changed hands at WWE’s recent Live Event in Lowell, MA. Samoa Joe pinned the champion, Finn Balor after hitting him with a Musclebuster, ending Finn’s reign as champion for 292 days.
This started speculations in social medias about a possible main roster debut of Balor. With Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and AJ Styles already in the main roster, Finn’s addition will add into a possible Bullet Club scenario. Several rumors include Finn as the leader of a team of Karl and Luke and the formation of WWE’s version of Bullet Club, Balor Club.
Unfortunately, wrestlinginc.com reports that Finn Balor may have suffered a left ankle injury during the event in Lowell. Many fans in attendance noted that Balor looked to roll his ankle, came back up and was clearly hurt. The referee then threw up a double "X" sign, and within moments, Joe won the match and championship.
Doctors were reportedly seen checking on Balor after the match. But, neither WWE or Balor has confirmed the injury yet. It is also best to note that this might be a storyline injury that is created to call up Finn Balor to the main roster.
