In case you didn’t know…

Rockstar Spud, whose real name is James Curtin, performed for TNA (now-Impact Wrestling) from 2012 until his departure from the promotion earlier this year.

It was revealed in October of this year that veteran British professional wrestler Spud signed a contract with the WWE, and will likely debut after sorting out a few visa issues.

The heart of the matter

Rockstar Spud was backstage at last night’s Monday Night RAW tapings which went down at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI.

Additionally, the belief is that Spud will also be backstage for tonight’s SmackDown Live and 205 Live tapings which go down at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

Nevertheless, Spud’s role and his on-screen debut in the WWE are yet to be revealed.

What’s next?

The vast majority of professional wrestling industry insiders opine that Rockstar Spud is set to compete in the WWE’s 205 Live division.

Author’s take

Rockstar Spud has excellent comic timings, and more than makes up for his size disadvantage as compared to other performers, when it comes to in-ring skills and mic work. One ought to note that Spud featured prominently in several storylines on Impact Wrestling for about half a decade, and the latter half of his run with the promotion saw both his character and confidence grow.

Rockstar Spud may not be the biggest or baddest wrestler out there, but the man has an exceptional understanding of the business and is considerably proficient in carrying himself. Here’s looking forward to Spud’s WWE debut.
