WWE News: Former WWE Creative talks WrestleMania 25 issues, Triple H vs Batista
What's the story?
Former WWE Creative Chris DeJoseph recently talked with Wrestling Inc. on his run as a WWE Creative.
DeJoseph revealed that there were internal conflicts on which match should headline WrestleMania 25, with the side that preferred Triple H vs Randy Orton, coming out on top in the end.
In case you didn't know...
WrestleMania 25 bore witness to perhaps the greatest match in the history of professional wrestling, The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels. The match didn't close the show though, with Triple H vs Randy Orton headlining the event.
Also, Triple H vs Batista at WrestleMania 35 isn't the first time the two will square off. Their first match was at WrestleMania 21, which was followed by a string of matches with Batista coming out on top every single time.
The heart of the matter
Dejoseph shared the story of what led to Triple H and Orton closing WrestleMania 25. According to him, there were two camps lobbying for their respective match choices to close the show, and the one backing up Triple H vs Orton won.
The Triple H-Randy Orton camp won. Did I think that was the right decision? No, but those discussions happen and it's eventually decided. I think it put a little chip on the shoulder of Shawn and Taker to make sure they had the best match of the night and in my opinion, they did.
He also seemed to be surprised at The Animal and The Game facing off at WrestleMania again. He stated that both Superstars are 50 years old, and someone younger could have been in that spot.
I'd like to see somebody younger get the rub, but there are continually matches with older guys.
What's next?
DeJoseph is currently working as an Executive Producer for Lucha Underground.
