From the WWE Rumor Mill: Full WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs card - no further announcements expected
What's the story?
WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs is less than a week away, and it seems as though the full card for the pay-per-view has now been announced. On the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that Jason Jordan and Elias could be added to the show, but it was very unlikely.
In case you didn't know...
The WWE pay-per-view juggernaut just keeps on running, and just two weeks after WWE Hell in a Cell, we are faced with another big event. TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs is the show, and it will be headlined by the in-ring return of the reunited Shield.
WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is absent from the show, and as such, the promotion was forced to pull out the big guns for the main event. This means the rest of the card is decidedly lacking, with Asuka's main roster debut the only other true event of note.
The heart of the matter
The full WWE TLC card can be seen below.
Tables, Ladders and Chairs match: The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins) vs. The Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane, Cesaro, Sheamus
WWE RAW Women's Championship: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Mickie James
WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Kalisto (c) vs. Enzo Amore
Asuka vs. Emma
Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt
Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick
Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox (Kick-off show)
Respected wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has suggested that it is highly unlikely that anything else will be added to the card, despite the numerous RAW superstars absent. There is no spot on the card for Bayley, Nia Jax, Elias, Jason Jordan, Matt Hardy and many others.
What's next?
WWE TLC 2017 takes place on October 22, 2017, and tonight's episode of 205 Live represents the only real chance for further additions to the card. The main event of TLC will be expected to go long as a result, so do not be surprised to see a 30+ minute headlining match inside the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Author's take
Is this the weakest pay-per-view card that WWE has promoted in 2017? It may well be. Hell in a Cell didn't inspire a whole lot of excitement, but even that had at least two matches of major note. TLC is a one-match show at best, with all of RAW's true star power thrown into one match with added nostalgia. Sunday could be a long night for the WWE Universe.
