What's the story?

WWE recently announced their return to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for another spectacle with top-tier superstars like the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker and the returning Goldberg.

Since the declaration of his return, several WWE superstars took to social media to knock at Goldberg. Although the former WWE Universal Champion did not respond to such comments, he did get back to Bobby Lashley for his tweets.

In case you didn't know...

As per the 10-year contract with Saudi Arabian government, WWE will be hosting two shows every year in the country, like they had hosted the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble and the WWE Crown Jewel events last year.

As seen in the previous two shows, WWE will pull all the strings to make the Saudi event as big as possible, mainly due to the economic boost they provide. Hence, the return of Shawn Michaels last year and the homecoming of Goldberg for this year's show.

The heart of the matter

Despite the announcement of Goldberg's return, there is no indication regarding the role he will be portraying at the event. Whether Goldberg signed for a one-off appearance or a multi-date contract is yet to be deciphered.

Although some rumours speculated another encounter between Goldberg and his arch nemesis Brock Lesnar for the event, the current Goldberg-Bobby Lashley social media interaction may indicate otherwise.

In this regard, it is interesting to note that Bobby Lashley has been using the Spear as his signature move lately, which may be a slow buildup towards his possible face-off with 'The Iconic' Goldberg.

What's next?

WWE will return to Saudi Arabia for a one-night grand event at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 7th June.
