WWE News: Goldust reveals if he will leave WWE to join AEW
What's the story?
Goldust recently joined Nick Hausman on the WINCLY podcast and talked about a variety of topics including his film career and the upcoming AEW promotion, which his brother Cody has helped build.
Goldust spoke about how proud he is of Cody and whether or not he will leave WWE to join his brother in All Elite Wrestling.
In case you didn't know...
Goldust is a WWE veteran and has been with the company - on and off - for over 25 years. He has not only held the Intercontinental Championship on multiple occasions but is also a former Tag Team Champion, including reigns with his younger brother Cody Rhodes.
Cody left WWE in 2016 and has made a major name for himself working for promotions such as Ring of Honor and NJPW.
Cody, along with Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson, has recently launched a new wrestling promotion called AEW- All Elite Wrestling. And with a major name like Chris Jericho on board, people have started speculating as to who the next big name to join them will be.
The heart of the matter
When asked on if Goldust is planning to leave WWE to join his brother in AEW, here is what he had to say:
"I have been WWE for the last 24 years. I've had little stints where I've left but I've always come back. It's been home for me.
"But now being 49 years old, granted I can still go with the best of them, but not like a 45 minute match…. With these last two knee surgeries, as much as I love film, I'm looking forward to acting right now and doing something different than wrestling.
"My acting career is a dream I've always had and I've accomplished one dream so I want to accomplish [acting]."
