WWE News: Hall of Famer comments on Randy Orton to AEW rumours
What’s the story?
Reports of Randy Orton willing to talk to All Elite Wrestling have been going around for the last 2 days but nothing has come out of it so far. The Viper had signed a 10-year deal back in 2010 and his contract is soon set to run out.
In case you didn’t know…
All Elite Wrestling are set to launch in May and are actively signing talents right now. They have a very good roster already but are in need of more superstars who can bring in the crowd too.
They have reportedly made a huge offer, an irresistible one as per WrestlingVotes, for a top WWE superstar and rumours are that it is none other than Randy Orton.
The heart of the matter
The topic was up for discussion on Busted Open Radio and Mark Henry tried to explain why the Viper might just be in talks with the WWE's new rivals. The Hall of Famer said:
“He’s always been a good businessman. He’s always, you know taken the backseat when he should have said, ‘Hey guys, I’m not doing that.’ He’s always been a good businessman. So why wouldn’t he be a good businessman and say, ‘You know what? I need to entertain this conversation. It’s not about the money, it’s about creative control. I think that it would be more creative control and time off with Randy.” [H/T Ringside News]
What’s next?
WWE have been pushing superstars who are currently unhappy in the company and have handed title opportunities to Finn Balor, The Revival and even given the US Title to R-Truth. Orton is in the Elimination Chamber for the WWE Championship, currently held by “The New” Daniel Bryan and it won't be a surprise anymore if they hand the title to the Viper.
