WWE News: Heath Slater discusses if he still talks with Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre
What's the story?
Heath Slater was a recent guest on the Wrestling Inc. Podcast where they talked about a variety of subjects. One was his old stable 3MB that consisted of Slater, Drew McIntyre, and Jinder Mahal.
In case you didn't know...
3MB actually participated in the tournament to crown the first ever NXT Tag Team Champions. Slater and McIntyre represented 3MB but lost in the first round to Neville and Oliver Grey (known as British Ambition), the eventual winners.
The heart of the matter
Within the interview, Wrestling Inc. asked Slater if he still keeps in touch with McIntyre and Mahal. Slater stated that he doesn't get to talk to Mahal or McIntyre too often, but their friendship is very strong. Slater would expand on those thoughts with his quote below:
"We text each other here and there but it's not like we talk to each other everyday. Every time we talk, we just pick up and leave off like we never stopped talking, that type of deal. We were on the road together for two years straight, and I love them all to death," Slater said. "Drew is back and Jinder is back killing it still. I'm sure something will happen where he will get another shot. It's just one of those things where I am happy for them. I'm genuinely happy for them."
The trio known as the Three Man Band, 3MB for short, debuted on the September 21st edition of SmackDown in 2012. McIntyre and Jinder would interfere in Slater's match with Brodus Clay, and the stable would form.
On June 12, 2014, the WWE released both Jinder and McIntyre ending 3MB, and for the short-term after, Slater would use the One Man Band gimmick.

What's next?
Slater is currently in limbo with his tag team partner Rhyno on Monday Night Raw, but the other two former members of 3MB are doing pretty well. Jinder Mahal just lost the WWE Championship to AJ Styles and will look to get a rematch soon, while Drew McIntyre defends his NXT Championship against Andrade Cien Almas this Saturday at NXT Takeover: WarGames.
Author's take
I always wanted to see 3MB to eventually be taken seriously and have a good run, but alas that didn't happen, and in reality, all three members moved on to bigger and better things as they became champions at some point after the group disbanded.
My hope is that once Drew is back on the main roster, there is some sort of reunion or segment with the three of them at one of the big four pay per views.
