WWE News: Hideo Itami makes his in-ring return
Hideo Itami was the first big signing to debut for the company when NXT made its move to the WWE Network and started its phenomenal run. He was expected to capture the NXT Championship way before Balor did and get called up to the main roster during the fall of last year. But, fate had different plans for Itami.
Itami got sidelined due to an injury right on the cusp of becoming a major star in NXT. His shoulder injury was written off as a backstage attack, but the blow for WWE at the time was huge. Even his recovery went way longer than originally anticipated as his shoulder muscles had some problem with healing and Itami was expected to return during or after the WWE draft.
NXT Superstar, Hideo Itami returned to the ring yesterday at a Live Event in Winter Haven. He faced NXT Champion Samoa Joe, Blake and Tino Sabbatelli by teaming up with TM-61. Below are the photos from the Live Event where Itami made his return.
Even though Itami has returned from injury, it will be interesting to see whether he works any more shows for NXT or gets called up to the main roster. It is to be noted that Itami was not present at the recent NXT tapings that taped the show for three upcoming weeks. By all accounts, we should not be surprised to see Itami making the jump to the main roster soon.
