What's the story?

Hall of Fame class of 2018 inductee Hillbilly Jim spoke to TMZ and revealed the man who he would like to see induct him alongside some of the biggest names in the business,

Unsurprisingly enough, Jim named former WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan.

In case you didn't know...

James Morris, a.k.a. Hillbilly Jim was introduced to the WWE Universe as a fun-loving fan who was 'recruited' by Roddy Piper to become a pro wrestler back in 1984. Who would have ever thought that the big friendly giant would go onto to become one of the best feel-good characters of the Golden Era of pro wrestling?

His feuds with Mr. Fuji and King Kong Buddy rank as some of his greatest but his iconic win against Andre The Giant in 1989 has to go down as the best moment of his career.

Jim was clubbed with Hulk Hogan during his initial days with the company and the mainstream popularity of the Hulkster rubbed off on the denim overall-wearing country boy.

The heart of the matter

The 6'7" giant claimed in the TMZ interview that he would himself know the identity of his inductor when WWE drops the announcement. However, his desire is to have Hulk Hogan do the honours the night before WrestleMania 34.

Despite constant speculation of Hulk Hogan mending fences with Vince McMahon regarding a return, the 6-time WWE Champion seems content staying at home after pocketing $115 million in the Gawker trial.

WWE haven't been shying away from mentioning the tainted legend on TV and social media, thus making the comeback a possibility.

What's next?

Reintroducing Hogan on the auspicious night before WrestleMania would be a smart move but would it be worth the risk?

WWE have already courted backlash over naming the Women's Battle Royal after The Fabulous Moolah, which has now been changed to Women's WrestleMania Battle Royal.

Author's take

You just can't keep a name as iconic as Hulk Hogan away for long and it's shouldn't be long before we see Hogan back in the WWE leg dropping the Rusevs and the Revivals in pointless segments.
