WWE News: Huge title match set for July 4th edition of Raw
According to the latest reports, July 4th edition of Monday Night Raw will feature huge title match. United States Champion Rusev will defend his championship against Titus O’Neil. The news was announced after SmackDown went off-air on Thursday.
The rivalry between Rusev and Titus O’Neil has reached a new level after Rusev insulted Titus in front of his children after their match at Money in the Bank. Rusev won the match at the PPV and followed it by calling Titus a loser to his children. Titus brutally attacked Rusev next night on Raw and sent him scampering away. Last Week, Titus defeated the United States Champion in a non-title match via a count-out.
This match is speculated to be the end of this rivalry as Rusev looks to be taking on new challengers. Last SmackDown, Rusev defeated Cesaro with the title on the line immediately after Cesaro won a brutal Fatal 4 Way #1 Contenders match. Rusev took advantage of Cesaro’s exhaustion and quickly won the match. Cesaro is expected to come after the title after Battleground.
It would be interesting to see how WWE books this match. As we all know July 4th is the independence day of America and WWE may even book a fan-favorite like Titus to win the match. By all means, this rivalry is poised to end on or before Battleground and Rusev will surely emerge as the victor of this feud.
