What’s the story?

Per ABC Action News, Hulk Hogan is now amidst yet another lawsuit regarding the leaked tape controversy he’s been involved in since 2012.

Apparently, Hogan is suing a few employees of 1025 The Bone as well the owner of The Bone, Cox Radio. Additional details pertaining to the ongoing lawsuit in the state of Florida have also been revealed.

In case you didn’t know…

Back in 2012, Hulk Hogan sued Gawker for publishing certain portions of a sex tape involving him with then-friends Bubba the Love Sponge Clem and the latter’s then-wife Heather Clem.

Following which, in 2015 yet another portion of the tape resurfaced showing Hogan mouthing racial slurs; in light of which the WWE suspended the Hulkster, terminated his WWE contract and removed all honourable mentions of him from their official website. However, Hogan won the lawsuit against Gawker in March of 2016, and although he was to receive upwards of $140 million, Gawker claimed bankruptcy and reached a settlement with Hogan, giving the latter $31 million.

The heart of the matter

Hulk Hogan is now suing Mike ‘Cowhead’ Calta, a prominent radio personality and host of the radio show 1025 The Bone, as well as Calta’s former colleague Matt ‘Spice Boy’ Loyd, in addition to the owner of The Bone, Cox Radio.

Per Hulk Hogan’s allegations, Calta and Loyd partook in "stealing, disseminating, using and exploiting illegally-recorded video."

Reports state that the defendants requested the judge to dismiss the case—a motion that was denied—owing to which they’re now legally obligated to respond within 20 days. Furthermore, it’s being noted that Hogan has sued them for ‘unspecified damages’ as he claims that the tape destroyed his professional wrestling career.

What’s next?

Per the vast majority of pro-wrestling experts, Hulk Hogan is likely to return to the WWE in 2018. As of this writing, Hogan is yet to address his aforementioned lawsuit in public.

Author’s take

Hulk Hogan’s privacy was unfairly invaded by Gawker, and the former was rightfully compensated for the entire fiasco.

Nevertheless, the long-lasting adverse effects of the leaked tapes on his pro-wrestling career cannot be reversed fully so to speak. As for his latest lawsuit, here’s hoping justice is served.
