WWE News: Important update in Rich Swann domestic violence case
What's the story?
We recently brought you an update saying that WWE Superstar Rich Swann had been released from prison, following a kidnapping/false imprisonment case also involving his wife. Thanks to Heel By Nature, we have an important update on the matter.
The match between Rich Swann and Drew Gulak to determine the Number 1 contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, currently held by Enzo Amore, has now been shelved. Here's also a glimpse of his official release form.
In case you didn't know...
Rich Swann is one of the most dynamic and talented stars in WWE's high-flying cruiserweight division. At the age of 26, he's already bagged the Cruiserweight Championship once.
Swann defeated three other men to qualify for a match on RAW against Drew Gulak, who beat three other men as well. The winner would have gone on to challenge Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore, for the title. Unfortunately, this match will no longer happen.
The heart of the matter
It remains to be seen who will face Drew Gulak in the absence of Rich Swann. It also remains to be seen if WWE will reboot the whole storyline to make way for a new one in the light of recent events.
Another development is that Swann cannot have direct or indirect hostile contact with his wife following recent events. This is probably for the best considering the events that took place recently.
What's next?
Rich Swann's career with WWE is up in the air. And we do not mean that in a good way, considering he's a cruiserweight. We're curious to find out who Enzo Amore's new opponent will be.
