WWE News: Incredible backstage photo shows several future Superstars in The Undertaker's WrestleMania 29 entrance
What's the story?
Konnor from The Ascension recently shared a throwback backstage photo from WrestleMania 29.
The picture shows a string of future WWE Superstars who were used in The Undertaker's iconic entrance at The Show of Shows.
In case you didn't know...
WrestleMania 29 emanated from MetLife Stadium in April 2013. One of the major draws of the show was The Undertaker taking on CM Punk. The Phenom dedicated the match to his former manager, Paul Bearer, and went on to extend his undefeated WrestleMania streak to 21-0.
As usually was the case with The Deadman, he made one of the most breathtaking entrances in WrestleMania history. Taker came down to the ring, surrounded by smoke and a bunch of "lost souls" trying to take him down from both sides. WWE tends to use NXT athletes for these kind of entrances, and this occasion wasn't any different.
The heart of the matter
Konnor shared an album on his Instagram account, featuring The Undertaker making his way to the ring, with several hands trying to pull him down. Another photo in the same album shows every Superstar that was used in the entrance, posing for a backstage picture. The caption to the photo read: "Days of innocence", and rightfully so. Some of these Superstars didn't make it on the main roster and left the company to look out for greener pastures.
Here's a list of Superstars featured in the photo, from left to right: Byron Saxton, Viktor, Kassius Ohno, Jake Carter (WWE legend Vader's kid), Xavier Woods, Luke Harper, Sami Zayn, Rusev, Konnor and Adam Rose.
What's next?
Who would've thought that Xavier Woods would go on to become the most popular Superstar out of this bunch? Woods started off in WWE as a jobber to the stars, but later went on to form The New Day, and the rest is history.
The next time WWE treats us with an elaborate entrance, look out for the faces in the back. You might see them battling for top championships on the main roster, somewhere down the line.
What are your views on the Superstars featured here? Who out of these wrestlers could've become a top draw, but wasn't handled well?
