Triple H has some big decisions in the wake of Ciampa's injury.

What's the story?

WWE's injury woes continue to mount as Tomasso Ciampa has joined the long list of stars who are currently sidelined due to injury.

The NXT Champion's scheduled appearance at World Wrestling League's Night of Champions event has now been canceled and a replacement has been announced.

In case you didn't know...

Ciampa has held on to the NXT title since he won it in July 2018 and recently made his Raw debut on February 18th, 2019. He was part of the mass NXT call-up that included Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, and Ricochet.

On his first night on Raw, Ciampa and Gargano defeated Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival. DIY followed up on their impressive debut with a victory over The Bar on SmackDown the next night.

It has been reported by PWInsider that WWE were forced to change the plans for last week's Raw after Ciampa's injury came to light.

He was originally slated to be a part of a four-way tag team match featuring the teams of Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, Ricochet & Black and one other unnamed team. The Revival was expected to be present at ringside, however, WWE rewrote the script after they were informed about Ciampa's status.

The heart of the matter

The rumors suggest that Ciampa has been working with a neck injury for over four weeks. The WWE doctors took the call to not give him a clean chit to wrestle, which has led to the alteration of many existing plans.

Ciampa has now been pulled from his appearance at World League Wrestling Night of Champions event and as announced on Twitter, will be replaced by Adam Cole.

What's next?

The aforementioned event is scheduled to take place on March 9th, 2019. As for Ciampa's neck injury, there are no updates regarding the severity of it and how long it may keep him out of action.
